Starters Tips (MAJOR SPOILER)[message #94487]

First, there are two ways you can play this game AT LEAST. Let's call them NORMAL way and RUDE DOG way, to honor the inventor of the latest.

NORMAL tips
1. Give the ticket to Cargo manager in A9 and follow him to get a gun.
2. Stay out of the A9 battle. Militia can handle it.
3. Pick-up everything, including clothes and kinives. Even if you will throw them away later, for starters amy armour and weapon is good.
3. Look for cash everywhere. You have about 3-4 days, depending on what team you have chosen, before you will run out of cash.
4. Start with a cheap team. The former losers, like MD, have now decent stats. The aces cost a fortune.
5. Stay off subways (except A10) until you get a couple of automatic medium range rifles.
6. Clear B9-B10 before heading to Calisto. You will find it worthwhile.
7. In A10 subway you will find a hidden storage next to the computer room.
8. Police lockers in A10 will also prove interesting.
9. During Day 1, when the news about your arrival hasn't spread yet, most of the factions won't be hostile. Be carefull where you sleep or heal or in Day 2 you might have a nasty surprise.

RUDE DOG tips
1. A9 militia doesn't affect town morale and who cares about morale anyway. Punch them unconscious and steal their stuff.
2. Cargo Manager and Carmen are losers. KO and look in their pockets.

I already liberated Calisto and the SAM Site. All the new faces are cool! A really cool battle was while I was fighting with Shark's gang. I've found only good things about this game now, but a few minuses too.

- When I press 'Quit' the game jams the whole computer.

- When I try to skip the intro the game jams the whole computer.

But that's all of them and I've got my own ways to deal with them so I don't need help. I love this game and I've forgotten to thank the MOD Squad for doing this EXTREMELY GREAT game. My brother made a high quality mistake. He hired Lynx and Ivan for a week in the start. At Calisto he fired Ivan and took Reaper. He's drivin' me mad... I had to convince him very long to take Rude Dog. It took a day. He said Rude One sucked. He rocks in assaults. Rude One blammed the brains out of almost everyone in Calisto Subway. They just ran up to the corner and... BLAM! Rude One cleared more than half of the badguys there.

The black screen and quit bugs are have been all tracked down to the same bad file. We'll issue a patch soon.

Tell your bro to keep Lynx and Rude and practice target shooting on the rest of the crowd. Well, maybe keep Jubilee for a bit of rollin' around...

Where do I obtain the replacement J9-b1-a.dat file? the one I have in my \Jagged Alliance 2 Gold\Data\MAPS folder appears to be the same version as the one in the JA2:UC zips.

but don't trust the brochure to much. IT shows a $ (for bank i guess) in Secotr G12 and all i found there was 52 enemies.

And the Scoped M4A1 is too powerful, especially with all attachments (laser scope, sniper scope, ord&spring and sound supressor). Smile

And Roger Waterhous carrries a VSS, steal it from him, becasue he doesn't drop it when he dies. (Well at least in my game he didn't)

As far as money goes, the mines are in the same places, except now they're Crepaton plants or something. Talk to the head miner/plant manager and get your money coming in. So after clearing the first town head east and take Calisto.

Trailblazer: When I entered Tony's sector I was attacked by the army there. I didn't accidently shoot Tony, yet the first time he spotted one of my mercs he went hostile. I tried exiting the sector after I'd beaten all the enemies but when I came back he was still hostile. I've restarted as I also got the shipper in the airport killed when I hit him for stealing my shipments, as I always do. This time however, the militia went hostile on him and killed him. Guess I will either need to hit him before I train militia or pay him off instead of smacking him. His replacement lost every shipment I ordered from Bobby Ray's so I gave up and started again as I stupidly didnt have a save left from before killing the shipper.

Is Tony on a faction? Any idea why he'd go hostile?

I have a similar problem, but not with Tony. It's the plant managers! I got one in the wrong sector (in C13), but she was hostile, so I had to put her down. Didn't find anybody in D13 who might get the money flowing. I took over Sheraton before that and didn't find any plant manager at all. I'm at day 39 and all I have are the 3 free mercs + cheapo Rosebutt, 'cause money always runs out :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

@Shrike, I think there is a reported bug that if you visit Sheraton, Drake, or Galileo mine first,
then visit Calisto mine, head miners will be missing from both sectors.
It is better to visit Calisto first, because the airport is required to buy from Bobby Ray's.
