I haven't an idea what sci-fi means - thought some experimental weapons maybe.
Now I got good campaign and ... alliens !
So mine in Dassen is closed. It's small problem ,big problem they come and attack militia even
the all light-blue militia can be deafeted by alliens.
OK I took first team and went to mine in Drassena.since head-miner said there're sightings of monsters.
Went all way down
2 maps mine
4 maps next lvl
3 maps last lvl.
Found something which is like monsters den ,but no monsters.
So what shall I do with them?

No little cuddly creature in any level ?
There are many threads about that. The solution is to come back later, at night.

After an attack in town, only the first map of the mine may be empty.

Yes. You should bring along some empty jars before going down to her though.

Those monsters turn to be quite a great problem.
They attack every night and you must have mercs in every sector, and run every battle, for Auto-resolve favors monsters.
Then now the first-team is going in for third time and I think we would have to reatret - every map has monsters and it is quite many before you reach the bottom.I just don't have so much ammunition.
I guess its time to create the second team.
P.S. advice :close the door to head-miner in Drassen-monsters would chew him in night attacks...
or yeah-don't stand in line-of-sight for militia they dropped Igor-friendly fire.

Hollow point (much hollow point). Tear gas. Mustard Gas. Break lights. First Aid. Thas all ya need.

UV goggles don't work down there either. Try finding Gabby (an old friendly guy) he'll sell you some elixir which kind of camoflages you from the critters.

I don't know go on with campaign or what:
8.800 minus with mine closed
3-4 mercs to be in every square since
auto-resolve for aliens and
re-recruiting militia
every night manual defend of sector
so -15000 a day and waste of time and effort
since i am half-noob in the game its kind of
non-welcomed problem .

Crap,now I'm pissed

Just follow Will's advice above. The Crepitus are not that difficult to get rid of.

I second Will - lots and lots of hollow point ammo in automatic weapons, and lots of gas grenades. Fast firing shotguns with buckshot also might help. In general, higher powered weapons will just shoot right through them for lower damage, so here's where weak but fast SMGs really shine. And gas masks for everyone, hopefully with a few spares since the creature spit will damage the ones you're wearing. The gas masks don't prevent damage, but they do reduce it some. You'll probably want them to protect against your own gas, too. Either NVG (not UV) for everyone or lots and lots of break lights, plus a couple of extended ears, or you'll be ambushed over and over.

Once you go into the mine, stay in until the job is done. The suckers will come out and get you while you're trying to heal and repair, so doing so is kind of a waste. Plus, while the number of creatures in the mine is limited, the number that will come out seems unlimited, and doesn't seem to reduce the number left in the mine at all. This is one place where hit-and-run just never worked for me.

If you're wounded and don't have the right equipment (or it's too damaged to use), then here's what I'd do. Leave. Let the bugs have the sector. The nice thing about that is that the bugs will also come out to eat Diedranna's troops when they swoop in to take the mine back. The town loyalty will drop some, but you don't have much choice. Go to the hospital if you can afford it, or else anywhere you aren't likely to get attacked, and heal up as quickly as possible (to keep from losing too much town loyalty). Procure the right equipment, including finding Gabby if you can. Then park outside the mine sector until you see the next bug vs. army battle happen. Attack right after it, because no matter which side won, they'll be weakened from the battle. Take back the sector, then immediately go in to clear out the bugs - don't waste any time training militia yet. Don't go in the mine with anyone who has claustrophobia or entomophobia - it reduces their AP too much, which will turn them into a liability. Make sure everyone has high AP, because you'll have to do lots of shooting at multiple targets. Their bites do a lot of damage, so if you can't kill all of the bugs in an encounter fairly quickly, then they'll overwhelm you once they get close. You'll need to keep the lead flying fast to keep them at a distance, and you'll need lots of AP to do it.

Your mercs will love smashing bugs. Once their morale goes high, keep pushing forward, even if they're wounded. The morale bonus will offset the penalty for wounds, and if you retreat, you'll lose their morale. Plus, their comments while they are killing bugs are priceless!

Lastly, bring some empty jars and three or four explosives packs, but don't use them until the battle is over and the queen is dead. I'll leave it up to you to figure out what to do with them then.

If everything is to be revealed, the robot is an awesome asset against the bugs: they can't see or smell it.
They never retaliate to its attacks and it can block their path to your mercs. It's something like a rock for them.

Restart game. Select 'realistic' game. No bugs.

Also, don't just rely on a team of 6 mercs. Remember, you can have up to 18.

I have 15 together with medics, repairmen and trainers.
Always used red-banded armor-piercing ammo.
That blue-banded hollow point ammo is littering fluor everywhere in Grumm,Alma etc.

Just shall collect lots of hollow point ammo, gas and go on a bugs killing spree.
