Since I know a lot of people are keen to have something else than JA2 merc as their avatar, I went ahead, and for the first time in 15 years, I added non-JA2 related avatars to the board. They're not completely off, since all are heroes of action movies we all know and love. Just not 100% JA2. Enjoy!

The JA2 avatars are in /default collection, the rest I've organized according to the movie title. Below you can see them in "unorganized" fashion.

A small clarification regarding custom avatars.

While I am ready to accept good submissions for a while themed around action movies, we're not turning this into a custom avatar contest. And we'll will not open to EVERY TYPE of avatar. You come up with a valid addition to the current themes (JA games and Action movies), fine, submit an avatar (77x77 pixels, square, full background). If you can't, don't bother.

i try use 3 custom avatar picture from my pc,but they not working here.. i can see them in my user control panel.but not in my post

You have to wait for the admin to approve the avatar. It's a security feature that shall prevent abuse.

I seem to have lost my own personal (uploaded) custom avatar, though I swear it was working last week. Has something changed in getting these to work again?

Custom avatars have been disabled. I lost mine too. There is no way to get it back unless Shanga manually assigns it.

Because I want avatars to stay within the forum theme, even loosely (see the recent "movie action heroes" collection). That's non-debateable.

If anyone has a proposal to submit to enlarge the above collection, he's welcome to PM me the source picture.
