Something I've been poking around at lately, is the way LBE gear is structured. While we have access to modern style MOLLE gear, for full customization, the fact is, most LBE gear in the game SHOULD benefit from similar modularity. Since the lat 19th century, LBE has been the subject of constant scrutiny and development, both for the sake of simplifying logistics, and improving the effectiveness of the soldier in the field. Modular gear should be the standard, not the exception.
So, I'm undertaking a project to replace the vast majority of existing LBE gear with it's modular component pieces, wherever it makes sense to do so. I've begun with some of the more accessible equipment, in terms of details: U.S. Army M1956/1967 ILCE/MLCE gear. Essentially the same gear, in canvas or nylon (for jungle combat.) The ILCE/MLCE covers the period of weapon transition from late WW2 to Early Vietnam era, and there's a ton of practical information available about it. Broken down piece by piece, it also offers you the ability to outfit an entire eight man squad with each soldier's needs and specialties catered to.
That's one super modular system to compliment it's MOLLE descendant, and I'm already working on gathering as much info as I can get on the ALICE system, which came before MOLLE and after ILCE/MLCE. I can deal with all the design and implementation myself, but I could use help.
Specifically, I could use help finding information about different types of LBE gear from the cold war and beyond. Not everything is as well documented online as U.S. milsurp, and I'd like to include more than just American gear. Soviet and Post-Soviet, German, French, English, Chinese, Brazilian, and Argentine for example, as well as a few of the non-military firms, such as Tactical Tailor, or other Police and Civilian supply companies. Hell, even a lot of modern hunting gear can work. Imagine your mercs with wrist mounted shotgun/rifle bands, speeding up their reload rates.
If you have details, or resources where I can find them, I'd LOVE to hear them. Illustrated diagrams in particular are very handy, as they help me see how everyt thing is meant to fit together. Much obliged!

Is there a guide somewhere about what all that stuff does, what goes where, what can attatch to which pack and which backpacks fit together? I've been trying to fiddle with equipping my mercs, but it's all quite confusing. Also, it would be nice if there was more of this stuff available, it's very difficult to find in the game world and even Bobby Ray has limited quantities.
