in vanilla alarming enemies to make them destroy rocket rifle prototype was kinda hard even in expert diff. in 1.13 i entered the building from soutwestern side door and killed two enemies in there without seen anyone except them. used fully silenced fa-mas but still enemies get alerted and destroy rocket rifle no idea why.

silenced != no sound

A silenced Famas still produces a lot of sound when fired. Better use a silenced 9mm handgun or dart gun.

I'm with you!!!
No matter what happens, they destroy the Rocket Rifle.

I'm in Alma, having silently killed four outside guys (Blood with knives, Grunty silenced pistol), and made it into the outer Lobby.
Mike appears, and I kill him, and 'guard' the approaches to "THE BUTTON".
A Major appears and Grunty blows his head open.
There's one sergeant in the Command Center, behind Theo (General), and another sergeant in the back room two turns of running from the button.
YET ... they still destroy the Rocket Rifle.
HOW??
Is it IMPOSSIBLE in 1.13 to capture the weapon, or prevent its destruction?
Is there a hidden button? A remote trigger the detonates the booby-trap anyway? Do I need an electronics expert to prevent this?
I DID capture it in 1.12 without silencers, just knives and dart guns.
Never mind the Rocket Rifle is heavy, allows only two shots per turn, and better weapons are had.

There should be an entry in the INI, beyond limiting BODYGUARDS for the GENERAL.
I've got the General ready for the "CHAT", whereon I'll kill him (can he be captured?). It's just the RR had blown a smoking hole in the wall. And some guy (dead) dropped a LAW - much better than a RR.
I fight for Principle.

In any 1.13 mod, you can activate cheats, have a merc teleport to Sergeant Krott and talk to him, before starting a fight. In Vengeance Reloaded though, there are no cheats, so i use Shadow and Reaper, armed with silenced P-90's and crossbows with more than enough bolts. At night, they can kill the gate guards and crawl all the way to the SE of the main building, then work their way carefully to the NW corner, dispatching enemies as they go. The SE entrance is guarded, with no easy way to get past the guards, killing one, will alert 2 more just because they can see him falling. So we have to work our way around to the NW where there's a door. Beware of guards on roof and any high place as well. Save before every kill and after, once you are sure that no one has witnessed the kill. The crossbow with 50 damage, is a one-hit-kill weapon on unsuspecting guards, just aim for the head. If the alarm sounds, the explosion will destroy part of the wall, and the locker with the rifle inside. Still, after talking to Krott and bandaging him, he wants to give you the rifle (which does not exist anymore), resulting at an endless clock. That's why, save, save, save save, often, unless you want the frustration of starting the sector adventure, over and over again. The rifle does a ton of damage and comes with some ammo, if you manage to get it. It's the rifle from the movie Eraser, not the vanilla rocket rifle, which is good for only CQB, since it lacks scope and/or bipod. Don't know if more ammo can be found in other places in the game but getting to it, it's an adventure, in and on itself, i love it !

Very old, but just for reference:

1. Go to ALMA at night with a gunslinger (1.13) and a Glock with silencer.
2. Use pliers to open the fence next to the entry door.
3. Enter and make sure to headshot all soldiers you enconter.
4. Do not enter the war room. Instead, go to one of the northern rooms. The deserter will be there.
5. Talk friendly to him twice. The second time he will offer the rocket rifle in exchange to let him live.
6. Besides the rocket, you can also get a LAW and some mortars in the area the explosion would occur.

In the Vengeance Reloaded 1.13 mod, the map is different and the guards are far more alert since i am playing it on INSANE difficulty. Furthermore, pistols are unreliable and there are no cheats to renew, say, your action points, so you can shoot more than 2 times. The crossbow is far better than the pistols, so does the P-90. One burst to the torso will put them down. However, firearms can be heard by nearby enemies, so the crossbow is superior. I don't cut the wire fence because it somehow alerts them or it's electrified, don't quite remember, I prefer sending 2 stealthy ones to shoot 2 enemies in the same turn, only way to avoid the alarm. This is for Vengeance Reloaded, otherwise, in the normal maps, i've been talking to the deserter, ever since 1998 and the alarm doesn't matter, they almost always blow up the western wall and you can bandage Krott and talk to him. He doesn't even mention the rifle IF the wall is destroyed along with the rifle. And if i want to be honest, i have never liked using those rocket rifles, they are inaccurate at middle to long distance and they only do major damage if used by the enemies. FN-FAL is the best rifle for the vanilla game. But letting him go will still raise the town loyalty happy
