The Jagged Alliance 2 Stracciatella team is proud to present a new release showcasing about half a year of work. It includes several new features, plenty of bugfixes compared to previous versions and the original game, clean-ups of the old code base and a notable speedup.

Read about the details, feature documentation and fixes here:

Packages for Linux, Windows, OSX and Android are available.

Installing JA2 v 1.12
Dropping Stracciatella in the JA2 folder. So far so good, the game is playing normally.

How do we install mods though ? Return to San Amaro and Operation Naurra ? The Stracciatella folder is indivdual from the vanilla JA2 game. Where can i drop in the mods and how ? Data to Data in the Stracc folder ? I have been trying different ways and i get an ERROR message in the Log. Please help.

Set it up following this: https://ja2-stracciatella.github.io/how-to-run/
Then place the mod you want in the MODS folder of your stracc install (there are minimods there already).
Enable the mod you want in the launcher and play.

Yeah, that's what i did but it seems to be having issues with Operation Naurra. Thank you for the suggestion and your time. I'll try again.

Hello and hope all is well. I was wondering if you could give us an approximate time for the release of the next version. Cheers!

The next version of Stracciatella or the mod mentioned in the message you were replying to, Operation Naurra? Doesn't look like there was much development done in Straciatella since the latest release so I'd guess there probably won't be a new release soon.

Is there a particular reason why you're asking?

Hi! I meant the next version of Stracciatella! The latest version isn't very mod-friendly. But that is not all! I am interested in knowing whether the next version will have major changes. One change I'm particularly interested in is the ability to add more guns, not too many, just a few so I can start developing and releasing my mod(s)! The mod Sweet Revenge has already done that! There are more than 85 weapons in addition to new ammo.

Well, since this is open source you can follow Stracciatella's progress on Github. As I said there does not seem to be any really big changes.
Maybe you should ask the guys behind Sweet Revenge how they did it? Whether they had to modify the source code or found a workaround past the old weapon limit?

One of the pull request is to remove all the limits of number of items and weapons, but it is still in progress and without any chances to say or even guess when it could be done.

Here you can check all features that will be added in new 0.22 version

Thank you for the info! I am asking for 20 to 30 more weapons only. I do not intend to turn this into another 1.13 mod where there are hundreds or maybe thousands of weapons. I also would like to be able to modify armour values. Is that too much or too hard to implement?

If you want to do this right now without waiting for an appropriate changes in Stracciatella, then you have to learn how to compile source code of the Stracciatella to the new exe file. If you accomplished that, then every wanted changes will be a peace of a cake for you.
