I am having a similar problem. There was an attack on D13, the factory/mine is closed and all of my militia were killed. I sent a squad there and the strategic screen flashes red and the music indicates that the bugs should be around. But I can't find anything to fight. The lair is two levels down from the stairway in the Crepaton office in D13. Everything is empty though. What am I doing wrong?

The sci fi option actually still needs an official release... so we are not supporting it at the moment. Smile
Heh, feel just like at work now, calling the helpdesk.

No, really. I don't know. this migh be an effect of not being able to choose the sci fi option before you start the game. There should be a bug queen in one of the rooms. If there isn't, well, then you/we have a tiny problem. Since the sci-fi option is a side-project. (it originally wasn't planned for UC) most of us never even tested it.

Can I play on and ignore the effects of the sci-fi attack?

I received the message about factory closing at Calisto. Few days later an attack occured. To my surprise, creatures were shooting with guns, not spitting! They also must have been wearing armor, because HP ammunition was ineffective. After combat I found near the corpses M4's, some with grenade launchers. In the factory cellar a guy told me about errors in robots software. I suppose, creatures in Danubia are artificial. Lower, in the creatures lair was their queen. After combat factory was reopened.

Well. AS I said, the sci-fi mod actually has to be released yet. We wanted to include a whole lot of improvements, but we probably won't get to that.
As it is now, the maps for triggering the sci-fi quest are included in UC, but as you might have noticed, the option to select it when starting a new game isn't. So it is not fully functional.
B.t.w.: in the official schi-fi add-on, it will become clear why the bugs are shooting guns now.

i am happy you found the queen though. People reported not being able to find her and thus losing their loyalty and mine income.
