I get this problem when I speak to Tony.
It's a shame because he's got a few things I could use and Bobby Ray's isn't around.
Also, can anyone shed some light on the issue regarding disappearing items left in sectors? Sometimes switching to the tactical screen empties the inventory. What is strange though, is that once that happens, the sector seems to spawn certain items such as crossbows, 9X scopes, arrows and lockbox keys out of nowhere. They cannot be accessed until I switch to the tactical screen and then back to strategic. For the record, it has happened several times in the Drassen mine.
Edit: It also happens in the Alma warehouse sector. It makes me want to stop and come back in two years time, hoping things are less buggy. Then again, this problem was reported about a year ago.
I'm paranoid that it's going to happen again, so everything has now become an intense puzzle game where I try to fit everything important in my merc's inventories (not fun).
By the way, the newest version is 4.20 right? When I scroll up I see "Diedranna Lives!-1.13 v4.10 20130305".
This is the save containing the encounter with Tony. I've had the crash occur after clicking on the "Buy/Sell" button and when examining the items he sells by right clicking.

EDIT: Both AFS and UC-1.13 (Old Maps) can reach the end without issue.
Toggle SpoilerI'm guessing that Deidranna Lives! finishing in a different map than either stock and Urban Chaos may have something to do with the crash. I'll have to check the LUA script to see if there is anything that can be done.

Those combination of attachments should simply say you cannot mix them: ie. LAM with a Laser Sight are not compatible

Installation: DL v4.31 20130319 with SCI_Unstable_Revision_5882_on_GameDir_1610
1) Trying to buy the kevlar vest (striker vest?) from Angel issues in an error (no screenshot, sorry)
2) About Covert/spy trait: Using a knife on a body to get some clothes brings a non blocking error message saying that there are no valid items in XML. I fixed this by copying clothes.xml from JA2 1.13 to DL113 installation. This file is nearly empty otherwise and therefore lacks references.
3) I have another problem, but i think it is inherent to 1.13 (Underbarrel weapons feature): Firing UnderBarrel weapons seems very inaccurate, as if it didn't use the main weapon aiming and stats. I tried some dual caliber weapons (ie. 12g +.223 Remington): the main weapon shots seem logically accurate, but UB ones go all over the place. I tried masterkey shotgun on JA2 1.13, and i felt the same, if i remember well.
(hope it helps, sorry if it has already been reported)
By the way, thank you for this excellent mod, i am having a great time playing it.

I've confirmed the (almost) endgame crash I ran into, while investigating another bug is related to Deidranna not being in the stock location initially. The crash goes away if her start coordinates are set back to those of stock. I cannot find a LUA script to fix this so I may have to edit/add a map or two to work around this. For now this means DL-1.13 cannot be finished.

I better check he has the right quest item in inventory, the XML Editor now is able to follow item index changes so he may not have the right item index.
EDIT: yes, it was a missing quest item, fixed for next version.

I've seen this in my testing of UC-1.13 v4.xx, must have an obsolete file in the mods. Good catch.

Yeah, its something I've seen myself. I need to start bugging Flugente about this one, but with only AFS/DL-1.13/UC-1.13 having this feature in widespread use (both items and public distribution) it will be a hard one to troubleshoot.

Change Dir[1] from "Data-1.13" to "Data-DL113". But for missing files i think there is a bad installation problem involved. With a clean install Merc editor should read values from 1.13 folder, which would show no errors with a clean install. Also you might be using outdated/incompatible gamedata files.
Thanks for the help, but something very weird is going on. I suppose it's strictly a 1.13 issue but since I've started the thread here, I'll continue, but can also post over on a 1.13 thread.
I've tried a dozen or more brand new installs with a number of unstable SCIs from Mediafire. I've found that the SCIs 5762 and below, work fine. SCIs 5778 and above do not work and indicate the same missing files as indicated previously. I've tried all the way up to 5990 with the exact same result. Stable 4870 is also fine. All installations were performed identically as follows:
1) Copy clean master JA2 Gold 1.10 install into new folder c:\Games\JA2 Master Copies\JA2 xxxx 1.13. (Don't have 1.12. Well, I do but can't find the disc.)
2) Download and copy SCI into new JA2 xxxx folder.
3) Use 7-Zip to "Extract Here" into same folder and overwrite all files. End up with folder structure:
Data
Data-1.13
Docs
MULTIPLAYER
Profiles
Then, I test the Merc Profile Editor. With 5762 and below, no problems; all files present. With any of the others, missing files; same ones every time. Am I missing some intermediary step necessary for later SCIs?
That said, the only effect seems to be that I cannot edit the merc files. The game seems to run just fine ... though with missing files, I'm not sure where it's getting the data. The indicated files are missing in both the Data and the Data-1.13 folders and the Merc Profile Editor program indicates 'Load files ("Data-1.13"): ERROR'.
Does this make sense to anybody? Why would they all work below 5762 and not above that? Much appreciate any help. Eh ... maybe this is a sign that I should be finishing my taxes instead of playing JA2.

When I attack Drassem mines (Deidranna Lives-1.13 v4.31 20130319) after series of explosions (what is it? artillery barrage?) opponents progress bar stops moving and nothing happens. I'm not able to move on and have to close the game.
In Profiles\UserProfile_JA2DL113\game_log.log there are errors:
file "TableData\Map\D13_0_ExtraItems_Experienced.xml" does not exist
file "TableData\Map\D13_0_ExtraItems" does not exist
file "SPEECH\053_006.gap" does not exist
Also, in Omerta where Olga atacks you, there were messages about some missing xml for her.
Also, when you take card from her, description says, that it was decrypted and info added to files in laptop. But I found nothing here.
EDIT: Opps, this is UC only. Hm, sorry. Where can I report bugs on Ja2 DL, please?

EDIT: a word of warning, DL-1.13 v4.4x will require a new game start (as well as SCI as I'm filling in some more DG mercs).
Ouch, and I was so damn close to the end too. Maybe I'll come back in a few months when DL 1.13 isn't so fresh in my mind.
Unless something major is found, DL-1.13 v4.40 will be released mid-week. The endgame CTD is fixed (worked-around), and even tested to some extent.

What .exe are you using, I believe the explosions slow down/freeze has been fixed recently. What you are seeing is alluded to in the original DL fiction (email on Ira and Dimitri's fate).

I'll take a look, but I think the error is related to the obsolete Clothes.XML file that will be fixed in v4.40.

Use (merger) the BDA on the key card to cycle through the fiction via item description text. There isn't any way to get the text into the laptop yet... (Work on the Encyclopedia and related v1.13 features to allow the laptop to present new in-game fiction, were suspended due to huge memory issues this feature introduced.)
