Well, i know this ain't gonna be a revolution or maybe even slightly noticed with the Source Code out and all, but hey. Since i got some inbetween time this week by pulling the "broken shift" this week at work i got 4 hours to kill in the afternoon.
So i fired up Pro-edit and started to make some changes in equipment and weaponry of some of my favorite mercs in Urban Chaos. For my own fun at first.
I ended up in doing that for all mercs and most baddies like Mike, Brenda and Deadeye. Also changed a few stats, making Postie and Maddog and the likes more valuable to recruit in your team.
Also tried to keep in mind the new personalfiles they were given by the Mod-Squad.
For example: Poor Ivan who degraded from top notch merc to a poor cabby and is about to arm his cab with machineguns.
He now carries a poor man's AK47 and some Molotov's and now has the Psycho personality trait. No fancy kevlar or stuff, just his trusty long overcoat with one medal (he sold the others for Vodka) and his Red Army fur cap reminding him of better days.
Also, the guys working in bomb-squads now come with all the EOD equipment and tools.
Reaper, Linx and some others now got Ghilly suits and the Camouflage and Stealth trait. Ofcourse they now pack the suitable hardware.
...and so on...
Anyway, i think this will be nice for newbie's who have trouble in playing because they lack the gaming experience, or people who play in Normal or Expert mode and want to start off with some decent equipment.
So if anyone is interested, it will be done tonight or tomorrow. Let me know, if not, hey at least i didn't got bored at home.
All you need to do is to (make a backup first!) overwrite JA2PROF.dat in the Urban Chaos\data\binaryData directory and start a new game. If this doesn't work...Toxic was wrong, so sue him and not me 
I would like some feedback, cuz there's likely to be some ammo mistakes with the 9mm weapons and other small things.

hi,
could you also please send a copy to jbp7@po.cwru.edu. this would be great since i'm just finishing up a campaign on urban chaos and would enjoy the opportunity to start another one with some tweaking. by the way, what program did you use to edit the mercs and their equipment and where can i download it? i tried using proedit, but when i press the option to change their equipment no popup window comes up and the program does nothing.
