Why? What is wrong with xp? What possible advantage could Win7 or Vista have other than more resource whoring?

Sounds like good money after bad to me. I see no reason whatsoever to move on from XP. But to each his own. I hope you will post back if there really is any reason to buy this.

Seems to really vary with system architecture/environment. I've played on fat ass systems where the game starts getting hinkey after slightly big save games and played on rudimentary systems with giant save games and almost no problems.

Could it be a .dll thing? Some kind of computer chatter that distorts the game like an antivirus usually does?

These are good questions. Some one here should know or at least pretend like they know.

..I'm curious. I'm playing 1.13 Wildfire with Space Vikings exe file, Smeagols mod.
While going to tactical in some sectors, N7 for example, the game crashes with assertion failure in code. Some variable with 'desert' in name. Strange thing is, I entered N7 and cleaned it out.. the bug only appeared later.

(this is a thread for the exe, bug report forum is not for Space Vikings bugs. I checked, not one post with assertion failure and desert in that place.)

Sounds similiar to the "error loading sector map due to missing//corrupted file" thing happening in the farm sectors around San Mona. It's really annoying, but I don't have the slightest clue how to fix that. Sad

Especially annoying, since one enemy fled during a battle into one of those sectors and I can't kill him in tactical mode (and the sector is on the main road from Chitzena to San Mona). I'm currently browsing the forums, as I know, that someone answered this before, I just can't find it...

If you look at the dismissal screen it already handles more than 20 characters and I was hoping to just go with that. Someone else was looking at that but I haven't heard from him in a while...

Yeah, sorry about that. New job started about that time.

I'm playing a new game right now with a good install of 1.13

How does this new update fit in?

Were can I find it?

And what all does it do? I've seen a number of different comments. Will it have all the other good updated features?
